Saturday morning accident injures woman from Mt. Vernon

An accident on Missouri 174 at Route K, four miles east of Mt. Vernon at 8:46 Saturday morning. resulted in injuries to one woman.

The Highway Patrol reports a northbound Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 17-year-old female juvenile from Mt. Vernon failed to stop at a stop sign pulled into the path of a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 53-year-old Lisa S. Snitker also from Mt. Vernon.

Snitker was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries.

The juvenile driver was not injured.
