Owasso, Oklahoma Police update public on 16-year-old’s death
The Owasso, Oklahoma Police Department released an update on the investigation into the death of 16-year-old Dagny ‘Nex’ Benedict on social media.
An investigation is being conducted by Owasso Police Detectives who are currently awaiting an autopsy report and toxicology results.
On February 7th police in Owasso were summoned to a local hospital in reference to a report of a student who had been involved in a physical altercation at the Owasso High School prior to the end of school that day.
On February 8th, police were made aware that the juvenile was rushed back to a hospital where the student was pronounced dead.
It is not known at this time if the death is related to the incident at the school.
The school said a fight started in the bathroom at the Owasso High School West Campus. The students were in the bathroom for less than two minutes before other students and a staff member broke up the fight.
A final cause and manner of death will be determined by the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
