Joplin City Council to hear proposal on flights to KC

Driving to Kansas City? Why not fly to Kansas City?

The Joplin City Council will hear a presentation from Boutique Air on Tuesday regarding direct flights from Joplin Regional Aiport (JLN) to Kansas City International Airport (MCI).

Their plan includes up to 42 round trip flights per week on an 8 or 9-seat aircraft.

The city also will hear a proposal from United Express to continue flights to Denver and Chicago.

Last week, the Airport Board voted to recommend the SkyWest proposal.

Currently the drive time from downtown Joplin to downtown Kansas City is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
