St. Louis Cardinals Caravan makes stop in Joplin
The St. Louis Cardinals Caravan paid a visit to Missouri Southern State University in Joplin Saturday morning.
Members of the Cardinal nation on hand for the meet and greet included Ivan Herrera, alumni Ryan Ludwig, Brendan Donavan, Nick Robertson, Cardinal broadcasters Ricky Horton and Mike Clairborne, plus minor league player Max Rajcic.
The Cardinals are looking to bounce back from a last place finish in the NL Central in 2023.
Brendan Donovan, who had flexor tendon surgery on his left elbow last August, says the team is looking forward to a much better season.
“I’m very excited,” Donovan told NewsTalk KZRG.
“We’re going to win more this year. We’re not happy with what happened last year. We’re doing all the right things in the off-season to prevent that.”
Donovan hit .284 with 11 homers and 34 RBI in 95 games last season. He won a Gold Glove award in 2022.
St. Louis Cardinal baseball airs on 1230 A.M. “The Talker.”
