Two-vehicle accident claims life of Neosho man Friday morning

A man from Neosho is dead after a two-vehicle crash Friday morning.

Neosho Police report that at approximately 10:46 am, they responded to a traffic crash near MO Highway 59 and Quince Road.

They say a Ford Escape that was stopped at the stop sign on Quince Road, entered the roadway traveling west, where it was struck on the driver’s side by a Peterbilt truck tractor that was traveling north.

The driver of the Escape was identified as 63-year-old Thomas R. Wood. He was transported to Freeman West Hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the truck tractor was identified as 41-year-old Bobby Hawkins of Star City, Arkansas. Hawkins was later released and had no injuries.
