Woman from Weir, Kansas injured in Saturday Harley accident near Joplin

A Harley rider "wiped out" on Old 71 at Route V, five miles south of Joplin, at 1:55 Saturday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, a northbound 2015 Harley Davidson 500, operated by 37-year-old Christina A. Ellis of Weir, Kansas, was traveling too fast for conditions and went out of control on a curve.

Ellis, who was wearing a helmet, suffered only minor injuries.

She was transported by EMS to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin
