Joplin police investigate shooting near 18th and Main Thursday

Joplin Police are investigating an apparent shooting near 18th and Main.

Witnesses tell Newstalk KZRG that around 4 p.m., anywhere between 6-10 gunshots were heard being fired in the 1800 block of South Main.

Moments later, a witness told us he saw a young black male laying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency responders arrived on scene and took him to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries.

We are told that several juveniles have been detained for questioning.
