Christmas Parade Theme announcement and call for entries

Freeman Health System President and Chief Executive Officer Paula Baker, alongside Joplin Mayor Doug Lawson, will officially announce the theme and logo for the 53rd Annual Joplin Christmas Parade during a Monday morning press conference.
Freeman volunteers have organized the annual parade since 2014. Countless man-hours are spent organizing and orchestrating the parade, a commitment that includes coordinating parade entries and ensuring the parade flows smoothly. Freeman officials and employees view the parade as a gift to the community.
The announcement will be made at 10 a.m. Monday morning in the Executive Conference Room at Freeman Hospital West, 1102 W. 32nd St., Joplin, MO.
In recognition of Freeman’s involvement in one of Joplin’s biggest holiday traditions, Mayor Lawson will present Baker with the official 2023 Christmas Parade Permit. Both will then unveil the parade’s theme and logo.
Funds generated by the 2023 Joplin Christmas Parade will go to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, an organization that makes miracles happen for local children with medical needs.
The parade will be held along Main Street. It begins at 6:00 pm Tuesday, December 5.
A maximum of 75 float entries are sought with additional spaces for school bands.
Those interested in having an entry in the parade can submit contact information to joplinchristmasparade@freemanhealth.com.
