Monday accident north of Carl Junction injures one

An accident around 4:44 Monday afternoon on MO 171 at Kafir Road about 2 miles north of Carl Junction caused injuries to one driver.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a northbound vehicle driven by 46-year-old Travis R. Hunter of Carl Junction failed to yield and struck a southbound vehicle driven by a 28-year-old male the Patrol identfied only by the name "Abdullah" from Pittsburg, Kansas.

The Pittsburg driver suffered moderate injuries. He was taken to a Joplin hospital for treatment.

No injuries for Hunter.
