Joplin City Council to review plans for 8-screen theatre

The Joplin City Council meets Monday night.

Among the items the Council is expected to review will be a theatre planned for the southeast corner of 32nd and Hammons Boulevard.

The building will include 8 screens, restaurant/bar area, arcade and additional entertainment area.

In addition to the theatre, the overall project also includes a new Menards Home Improvement Store and 250 new multifamily apartment units. Both are expected to open in 2024.

The meeting will also review the state of trees and beautification in the city.

The meeting gets underway at 6 p.m. in City Hall at 602 S. Main Street.

The public is invited to attend.
