Joplin VFW Post 534 to honor 9/11 victims by reading names, displaying flag

A commemoration of the  of the 9/11 attack on America will take place at Joplin VFW Post 534 at 110 Veterans Way (just off North Main Street Road) Monday morning.

Starting at 7 a.m., the VFW will read the the names of the nearly 3,000 people who died as a result of the attacks.

After that, a flag display will take place on the bridge at North Main (Highway 43) and East Zora.

Also on Monday, VFW Post 534 will host a VSO event from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to help veterans learn more about dealing with veterans benefits and other issues important to veterans.

The public is invited to attend the events.
