Brown tarantulas crossing Oklahoma in search of mates

In Oklahoma, thousands of tarantula spiders are beginning to cross the state.

Late August through October is tarantula mating season.

Despite there being multiple types of tarantulas found across North America, there is only one that is known to live in Oklahoma - the brown tarantula.

Brown tarantulas also live in Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas.
