Prosperity Road scooter-rider struck, injured by car

A man riding a scooter suffered injuries around 5:40 this morning when he was hit by a car on Prosperity Road about a mile east of Joplin.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 55-year-old Raymond H. McCoy of Joplin was driving south on Prosperity Road and failed to see the scooter-rider, officially classified as a pedestrian, and struck him with the right side of his vehicle.
31-year-old Jacob M. Davis of Carthage suffered moderate injuries.
Davis was taken by EMS to a Joplin hospital.
