Columbus man given 21 year prison sentence for rape

A convicted child rapist from Columbus, Kansas, will spend more than two decades in prison.

65-year-old Kenneth W. Webber Jr., was sentenced to 21 years and five months behind bars.

In May, Webber plead guilty to Rape, and two counts of Aggravated Incident Liberties with a Child less than 14 years of age.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says Webber has been held in the Cherokee County Jail since 2016, following an investigation into his illegal sex crimes.

Since his arrest, there have been numerous delays in court proceedings due to competency issues and changes of defense counsel.

He was prosecuted by Cherokee County Attorney Nathan Coleman.
