One lane traffic in Lawrence and Greene Counties

Lawrence/Greene Counties – Drivers should expect one lane traffic, flaggers and pilot cars when MoDOT crews seal two (2) routes in Lawrence and Greene counties with a mixture of rock and oil beginning the Wednesday, July 19, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Here’s a look at the dates and locations where MoDOT crews will be working:
- Wednesday, July 19 – Lawrence County Route AA from Lawrence County Route C south to Missouri Route 96 east of Avilla
- Monday & Tuesday, July 24 & 25 – Lawrence/Greene County Route TT from Lawrence County Route O south of Halltown east to Greene County Route N north of Republic
Traffic Impacts:
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane where MoDOT crews are working
- Drivers will encounter flaggers and pilot cars directing them through the work zone. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
- Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed when traveling over recently-sealed sections of highways
- Work will be done during the hours of 7 a.m.-4 p.m.
- All lanes OPEN to traffic during nighttime hours
- No signed detours
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the work zone
- Drivers are urged to look for alternate routes
Weather and/or scheduling delays will alter the work schedule.
A seal coat is not an alternative to an asphalt overlay, but is planned for these roads as an economical way to maintain and preserve the roadway. The treatments keep a road from deteriorating and will extend its life.
