Former substitute teacher at Golden City surrenders license

A former teacher in the Golden City School System will no longer be working in education.

23-year-old Jacey Collins, formerly Jacey Stahl, agreed to a plea deal that includes her giving up her license as a substitute teacher.

In 2021, Collins was accused of having sex with a 15-year-old male student at his home located in Jasper County.

She also was accused of sending the boy a text asking him to destroy his phone.

Last month, Collins pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child in the second degree.

She received two years of unsupervised probation and a suspended jail sentence.

The State Board of Education agreed with the decision for Collins to surrender her license at its meeting in late June.
