Joplin woman killed in crash on River Road

A 20-year-old woman from Joplin was the victim of a fatal one-vehicle crash Wednesday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened when the vehicle that Liberty L. Fowler was riding in went off of River Road on a curve and hit a concrete pillar.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, 21-year-old William D. Deckard, suffered minor injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of DWI.
