Ameren Missouri plans solar energy projects

Investments from one power company could lead to lower energy costs in the future.

Ameren Missouri has announced four new solar energy projects that could produce power to supply electricity to more than 95-thousand homes. 

The projects include a solar farm in Cass County, Illinois; a renewable energy center in Vandalia, Audrain County; a split rail solar project in Warren County; and a renewable energy center in Bowling Green, Pike County. 

The company touts its investment in renewable energy to keep electricity prices low and affordable. 

The projects are scheduled to be opened by 2026.
