Fatal accident in SE Kansas kills woman from Joplin

An accident in southeast Kansas around 4:20 Friday afternoon took the life of a woman from Joplin.
The head-on collision took place on Highway 160 near west 60th about 6 miles west of Columbus.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Skylar Cauble of Joplin was heading west on 160 when his SUV failed to negotiate a curve, overcorrected and veered into the path of a car driven by 67-year-old Violet Knowles of Joplin.
Knowles was killed in the accident.
Cauble had minor injuries.
A passenger in his vehicle, 17-year-old Macy Pinnegar, was seriously injured.
Cauble and Pinnegar were taken to Mercy-Columbus Hospital.
