Motorcycle rider injured in Monday afternoon accident

A local motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital after an accident Monday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when on Kodiak Road about two miles south of Joplin when a 2022 Indian Scout motorcycle operated by 53-year-old Shannon M. Front of Duenweg went off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Front suffered moderate injuries.

She was transported to a Joplin hospital.
