Carthage Water & Electric rated a top publicly-owned utility

Carthage Water & Electric is receiving recognition for being one of the top-ranked publicly owned utilities in the nation.

CWEP garnered the Diamond Level Reliable Public Provider (RP3) designation, the highest rating from the APPA, the American Public Power Association.

The designation recognizes utilities that have demonstrated proficiencies in reliability, safety, system improvement and workforce development.

Only about 109 of 2,000 public power utilities in the nation earned the top-level Diamond rating.

CWEP has served the City of Carthage for 125 years.
