Serious injuries after pickup truck strikes MoDOT vehicle

A man from Shawnee, Kansas, was life-flighted after he reportedly rammed into the back of a parked MoDOT vehicle on I-49 Wednesday afternoon south of Lamar.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the department of transportation vehicle was stationary, conducting work in the passing lane with lights and a sign board activated when it was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup truck.
That truck was driven by 56-year-old William D. Hall, who was taken to a Joplin hospital by helicopter with serious injuries.
No MoDOT employees were injured.
