Jasper County Sheriff’s Office arrest man in stolen truck

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest a man attempting to steal a truck from Nevada, Missouri. Following the arrest the department issued a press statement:

In the early morning hours of May 2nd 2023, Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a Ford F-650 truck pulling a trailer with numerous pieces of excavating equipment on it.

The vehicle turned on a county road abruptly and the driver fled from the vehicle while it was still moving. The driver, identified as Douglas Garver, 44, of Oronogo, was apprehended after a short foot chase.

The truck, trailer and all of the equipment was determined to have just been stolen from Nevada, Missouri hours earlier. Felony charges of tampering, stealing and resisting arrest have been sent to the Jasper County prosecutor.
