National Prescription Drug Take Back Day Is April 22

Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

It’s coordinated by the D-E-A to dispose of unused prescription drugs.

Take Back Day events provide easy, no-cost opportunities to dispose of medications stored at home that can be stolen and abused.

There are many permanent drug-drop boxes located in communities and municipalities of all sizes across Missouri.

The most recent National Take Back Day was October 29.

Statistics from the Drug Enforcement Agency shows that in Missouri, over 20-thousand pounds of materials and prescription drugs were disposed of that day.
