Storm shelter registration encouraged by Joplin First Responders

Joplin residents are reminded that storm shelter registration is easy.
Joplin Police and Fire Departments encourage this registration as it provides helpful information for the first responders to locate residents more quickly should a natural disaster or other event occur.
It can be found on the Emergency Management page on the City’s website
This information goes directly to Joplin’s 9-1-1 Center, where it is stored in their computer database.
If you have a storm shelter on your property within the City of Joplin, and would like the Joplin Police Department to have a record of its location so officers could more quickly find you should a future event occur, take a few moments to fill out the Storm Shelter Inventory here.
