One man seriously injured in Highway 96 accident Saturday night

One man suffered serious injuries in an accident around 8:50 Saturday night.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the wreck occurred when a westbound Toyota Yaris driven by 24-year-old Joseph N. Raylyanyu of Brighton, MO attempted to pass a vehicle on two-lane Route 96 seven miles east of Carthage.
He traveled into the path of an eastbound Chevy 2500 driven by 20-year-old Broc E. Ratliff of Avilla.
Raylyanyu suffered serious injuries. He was airlifted to Mercy-Springfield.
Ratliff was not injured.
