MSSU Lion Co-Op hosts Empty Bowl Fundraiser
Joplin, Mo – The Missouri Southern Lion Co-Op will host the Empty Bowl Fundraiser to raise money for the Groceries to Graduate program.
The scholarship allows eligible students to college four disbursement of $50 each month throughout the semester to be used at Webb City Farmer’s Market for fresh produce, dairy, bread and meat.
The Lion Co-Op was founded to help students who are dealing with food insecurity; a reduction in the quality or variety of food intake, which often results in disrupted eating patterns. In other words, many college students don’t have money to buy enough food or quality food. Lack of adequate nutrition can be a considerable obstacle to academic success.
The Empty Bowl Fundraiser will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 11am-1pm in the North End Zone facility.
For $20 participates will receive a bowl made by the MSSU Department of Art and Design, soup, bread, dessert and may dine in or take to-go
