Highway 43/Highway 126 accident injures 3, one seriously

An accident at the Highway 43/Highway 126 intersection in Barton County around 9:35 Sunday night resulted in serious injuries to one person.

The MO State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a southbound Ford Econoline Van driven by 44-year-old Jeremy L. Bowles of Galena, Kansas, collided with a westbound passenger car driven by 19-year-old Michael S. Daniels of Kansas City, Kansas.

An occupant in the Daniels vehicle, 19-year-old Na’Kasia C. Hayes of Greenwood, Mo., was seriously injured.

She was taken by air to Joplin’s Freeman Hospital.

Daniels and another occupant, Jelani X. Murray of Kansas City, Missouri, suffered minor injuries.

They also were transported to Freeman Hospital.
