Two Newton County shooting suspects caught in Texas Wednesday

Two suspects wanted in connection to a shooting in Newton County Saturday, March 4, have been taken into custody.

Authorities in Texas arrested 26-year-old Trevor J. Palmer, of Diamond, and 37-year-old Kimber M. Laquet, of Joplin, Wednesday morning during a traffic stop.

The two were being sought after a shooting near Carver Road and MM Highway wounded 45-year-old Jamie D. Hodges, who was shot twice, once in the face and once in the shoulder.

Shortly after the incident, one suspect, 35-year-old Cody D.Jones, of Asbury, was arrested and is now facing four felony charges in the assault of Hodges.
