UPDATE:  See Crawford County homicide

Early Friday evening, the Crawford County Sheriff's Office released the following information in a Facebook post:

"We are currently investigating the homicide of a male subject that occurred late this afternoon.

"The incident occurred west of Pittsburg out in the county.

"No other information is available at this time."

An unconfirmed report, not from the Sheriff's office, says that police arrested a man earlier today hiding near 4th Street and the 69 bypass.

It is not known if that arrest was related to the reported homicide.
