High-speed crash in Branson West kills driver from Springfield

A man from Springfield, Mo. was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Branson West around 10:40 this morning.

The Highway Patrol says a Ford Explorer driven by 36-year-old Brent M. Sexton ran off the right side of Highway 13 at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle overturned on an embankment and then caught on fire.

Sexton was ejected from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead about an hour later by the Stone County Deputy Coroner.
