Man from Joplin crashes motorcycle on Lone Elm Road

A motorcycle accident on Lone Elm Road, about two miles north of Joplin around 1:30 this afternoon (Sunday), caused injuries to a man from Joplin.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened occurred when 38-year-old Jacob L. Jarman fell off a southbound Harley Davidson, landed in a ditch, and struck his head on an exposed metal culvert.

The motorcycle then left the roadway and struck a tree.

The Patrol says Jarman was not wearing a helmet.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to a Joplin hospital.
