St. Louis Cardinals Caravan returns to Missouri Southern

UPDATE: The event will take place in Robert Ellis Young Gymnasium

Joplin, MO – Cardinals baseball fans will get the chance to meet players and get autographs Saturday, January 14 when the Cardinals Caravan comes to the Missouri Southern State University campus. The free event begins at 11:00 a.m. in Young Gymnasium. The new location will offer space for more fans to attend.

The event includes a question and answer session with players Lars Nootbar, Zack Thompson and Gordon Graceffo, as well as retired pitchers Randy Flores and Alan Benes who round out the panel. The Q and A will be conducted by Cardinals Caravan emcee Tom Ackerman.

Players will then give autographs to the first 400 kids ages 15 and under. Line tickets will be available at the front lobby of Young Gym the morning of the event. Doors will open at

10:00 a.m. Guests will also receive a free gift from Cardinals Caravan sponsor Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance.

The United Way of Southwest Missouri and Southeast Kansas will accept donations for raffle tickets for a chance at Cardinals gift packages and memorabilia. Raffle tickets will be available at the main entrance of Young gym throughout the event. Winners will be announced during the autograph session.

Parking is available in the MSSU main lot on Newman Road. Officer guided handicap accessible parking is available through the circle drive in front of the gymnasiums.

KGCS-TV will record the Cardinals Caravan presentation for playback at a later date. Cardinals Caravan is proudly sponsored by Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance, KGCS-TV and Zimmer Radio Group.
