Carl Junction woman killed in auto accident near Springfield

A woman from Carl Junction is dead following an accident near Springfield.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 30-year-old Jennifer M. Hood was pronounced dead after her northbound 2016 Kia Soul failed to negotiate a curve on U.S. 65 a mile north of Springfield around 9:30 this morning.
Hood's car then ran off the left side of the roadway, crossed the median and struck a 2016 Toyota Corolla head on.
That car was driven by 18-year old Madison A. Rues of Pleasant Hope.
She suffered serious injuries, as did a passenger in her vehicle, 49-year-old Andrew J. Rues of Pleasant Hope.
They were transported to a Springfield hospital.
