Performing Arts Center vote may return in 2023

You may remember voters earlier this year in Carthage not casting the sufficient number of votes needed to approve a new Performing Arts Center for the Carthage School system. .

However, depending on what School Board officials decide at their January meeting, the issue could be placed before voters again in April.

The current facility being used dates back to 1987.

Voters actually cast more votes for than against the PAC this year, but fell short of the 57 percent approval needed to pass.

That measure had proposed an $18 million bond issue.
