One dead, 5 injured in Newton County accident

One dead, 3 adults and two juveniles hurting following a Christmas afternoon crash in Newton County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol report that just before 3:30 PM on Sunday, a pickup truck driven by 63 year old Samuel Mitchell ran off the road and struck a culvert.
The wreck happened one mile south of Joplin on Apricot Road.
Mitchell was pronounced dead at a Joplin hospital
None of the injured or the driver were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident according to the patrol.
