Malek chosen to be next Missouri State Treasurer

Missouri Governor Mike Parson has named St. Louis area attorney Vivek Malek to be the next Treasurer of the State of Missouri.

Malek succeeds Scott Fitzpatrick who is Auditor-Elect.

The 45-year-old Malek has two masters degrees, in law and business administration.

Malek is a member of the the Southeast Missouri State University Board of Governors

He has never held public office before.

He said today he plans to run for the Treasurer's position in 2024.
