University IT connection restored Thursday 

Crews worked through the night to restore two broken paths of Kan-REN fiber that caused internet outages for Pittsburg State University as well as many other public entities throughout the region.

The connection went down late Wednesday afternoon. 

By Thursday morning, they had fully restored the line between Pittsburg and Wichita and were close to restoring the line between Pittsburg and Kansas City.

The issue impacted PSU, the City of Pittsburg, Pittsburg and Frontenac Schools, Fort Scott Community College, schools in Fort Scott, Central Burden and Prairie View and the Linn County Library.

For PSU, it came at a challenging time: students and faculty were working on final exams and grading.
