Baxter murder suspect formally charged

The suspect in a double homicide in Baxter Springs, Kansas, has been formally charged.

41-year-old Kyle Butts of Independence, Missouri, has been formally charged in relation to the event that took place on November 28th.

Butts is currently being held at the Cherokee County Jail without bond.

He has been charged with two counts of First Degree Murder, one count of Attempted First Degree Murder and Interference with Law Enforcement.

He is accused of shooting and killing 47-year-old Jeremy Murphy of Anderson, Missouri, and 59-year-old Craig Guinn of Pineville, inside of a home in Baxter Monday.

He is also accused of shooting and wounding 27-year-old Seth Guinn, also of Pineville.
