Car leaves roadway, hits tree; two injured

Two men suffered serious injuries as a result of a one-vehicle accident on Chapel Road, about three miles south of Carthage.

The accident occurred around 8:50 Saturday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a southbound 2021 Ford F-150 driven by 24-year-old Wesley S. Washington of Hensley, Arkansas, left the roadway and struck a tree.

Washington was seriously injured. A passenger in the truck, 25-year-old Logan J. Loftis of Little Rock, Arkansas was also seriously injured.

Both men were transported to a Joplin hospital for treatment.
