Crash on I-44 near Rangeline exit results in delays to drivers

A single vehicle rollover crash this morning along I-44 near the Rangeline exit caused significant delays to motorists this morning along the westbound lanes of the Interstate.

Joplin Fire Dept, Joplin Police, METS and Newton County Ambulance responded.

The delays took place due to the initial accident and the need for the Joplin Police Department’s Major crash team to conduct a preliminary investigation of the crash scene.

“Cars and semi trucks were backed up for miles,” said one driver, who preferred to remain unidentified stated.

The accident occurred around 9:30 this morning.

Both westbound lanes opened up at approximately 11:20 a.m.
