Man from Joplin sentenced to almost 14 years for escape

A man from Joplin received a prison sentence of nearly 14 years for escaping from jail in Kansas.

34-year-old Michael Wayne Martsolf entered a guilty plea in August to charges of aggravated escape from custody and parole violation.

He was sentenced in Cherokee County District Court to 165 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections.

He had been convicted for a 2017 conviction for Distributing Controlled Substances and Fleeing Law Enforcement.
