Joplin City Council meets tonight

Zombie buildings - abandoned structures in the city that can become eyesores as well as firetraps- are one of the items to be discussed at tonight's Joplin City Council meeting.

The Council will consider measures for the demolition of structures and the clearing of lots at 2201 S. Empire, 827 S. Empire and 802 E. Broadway in the city.

Tonight's meeting gets underway at 6 p.m in Council Chambers in City Hall at 602 S. Main.

The Council will hold line by line work sessions on the FY 2023 budget at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Those sessions also will take place in Council Chambers.

Tonight's meetings and the work sessions will be livestreamed and are open to the public.
