Schmidt leads Busch Valentine, poll reveals

Republican Attorney General Eric Schmitt reportedly has opened  up a considerable lead over Democrat Trudy Busch Valentine in the race for U.S. Senate in Missouri this November, a poll released today found.

According to the poll, Schmitt has a reported 11 point lead over  Busch Valentine -  49% to her 38%, according to a survey conducted by Saint Louis University and YouGov.

The winner of the election will replace the retiring Roy Blunt.

The poll, which was funded primarily by Saint Louis University's nonpartisan PRIME Center, surveyed 900 voters.

The margin of error for the poll is 3.75 percent.
