Friday night wreck injures woman from Joplin

A Friday night crash on Highway 86 in Stark City in Newton County resulted in injuries to a local driver.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident took place when a westbound 2010 Kia Soul driven by 42-year-old Wendy A. Barkfelt of Joplin traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.
The accident happened around 8:45 Friday night.
Barkfelt was transported by Newton County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
The Highway Patrol reports she suffered moderate injuries.
