Fatal car crash leaves a 9 year old dead

NIXA, MO. – Late last night a 9 year old boy in Nixa, Missouri died in a fatal car crash. The crash occurred in Christian county after a 16 year old failed to stop at a red light in his Dodge Charger and side swiped a minivan containing a 9 year old boy, 12 year old girl, and its 40 year old driver.

The 9 year old boy was pronounced dead at the scene while the 12 year old girl was transported by ambulance to Cox South. The 16 year old driver of the Dodge and the 40 year old driver of the mini van were both transported to Cox South for serious injuries. It is unknown at this time if alcohol was involved in this fatal crash but the investigation is ongoing.
