John Wood Launches Independent Bid For US Senate

A St.Louis native who recently worked as the top attorney for the January Sixth investigative committee is entering Missouri’s U-S Senate race as an independent.

John Wood made it official in an announcement posted to his website.

The long-time Republican has been the center of a movement to draft someone to run as an independent for the Senate seat being vacated by Republican Roy Blunt.

Wood needs to gather ten thousand signatures by August First to be added to the November ballot.

Blunt, meanwhile, has not endorsed any Republicans who are seeking to replace him in the Senate.
