Divers locate man who drowned near Joplin's Grand Falls

The body of a 35-year-old drowning victim has been found in Shoal Creek in Joplin.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Standley Luke of Carterville attempted to go over Grand Falls with a pool toy, struck a rock and drowned.

The water recovery first started around 5 p.m. Tuesday when Luke did not resurface. His body was found around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday.
