Pilot life-flighted after plane crash in Aurora

A pilot is recovering after their plane crashed this morning in Aurora, Missouri.
Fire department officials say at 10:47 a.m., the small aircraft went down after hitting power lines near the intersection of Lawrence 1200 and Highway 60. The scene is about a half mile south-southwest of the Municpal Airport’s airstrip.
Crews arrived and ensured there was no fire hazard and that the pilot (the only person on the plane) was tended to medically.
The pilot was reportedly then life-flighted to a Springfield hospital but is expected to survive.
The electric company was on scene making necessary repairs.
The FAA has been called in to investigate the and the cause of the incident.
