Fire destroys home in 800 block of South Jackson

A fire today shortly before noon caused severe damage to a home at 819 S. Jackson in Joplin.
By the time Joplin Fire Department crews arrived, the house was completely engulfed.
No occupants were in the structure at the time of the fire.
There were no injuries although a neighbor said it is possible that pets inside the house may have been lost.
The fire is being investigated by the Joplin Fire Marshall.
